February 17 2025 -

SB 559 / HB  1154 does two things.  1) The bill permits a revision to lease agreement to go into effect without a tenant’s signature after notice to the tenant and continue use by the tenant; and 2) The bill permits a facility owner to evict a tenant who is still paying rent, but is violating the law or the rules of the facility owner.

February 14 2025 -

We have had success with obtaining sponsors for our 2025 legislation.  Representative Susan Lynn of Mt. Juliet has agreed to sponsor our bill in the House of Representatives, and it is HB 1154.  Senator Shane Reeves of Murfreesboro has filed the senate companion bill, and it is Senate Bill 559.  We are grateful to these two legislators for agreeing to file and sponsor our legislation.

We are working on our sponsor talking points and should be ready to schedule a committee hearing soon.
